No material changes from the previous version — this review confirms all commitments remain in force. - Most PDFWix tools (merge, split, compress, rotate, JPG/PDF conversion, watermark, sign, edit, organize, crop, page numbers) run entirely in your browser. Your file is never uploaded. - **Protect PDF** and **Unlock PDF** use a server-side function. Files travel over HTTPS, are processed in memory, and are not written to disk or retained. - We never read, share, sell, or train models on the contents of your documents. - You can subscribe to our newsletter (footer form). We store your email and nothing else. Unsubscribe any time. ## 1. Who we are PDFWix is operated by the PDFWix Team. For privacy questions, email support@pdfwix.com. ## 2. What we collect ### Account data (only if you sign up) Email address, a hashed password (or OAuth identifier if you sign in with Google), a display name and avatar URL if you set them. Used solely to authenticate you and to associate API keys / tool history with your account. ### Tool usage events When you run a tool we log: the tool slug, success/failure status, the input file size in bytes, the output size in bytes, how long the operation took, and a coarse device class (mobile/tablet/desktop). We do not log filenames or file contents. This data lets us spot broken tools and capacity issues. ### Newsletter subscribers Email address only, plus the page you subscribed from and a timestamp. Stored in our backend with row-level security so only an admin can read the list. ### Web analytics We use **Google Analytics 4** (measurement ID `G-GRKD9E8G5L`). GA sets `_ga` and `_ga_*` cookies (24-month expiry). ### Bot protection / CDN We sit behind **Cloudflare** as a CDN. Cloudflare may set a `__cf_bm` cookie (30-minute expiry) to distinguish humans from bots. ## 3. Files you process Browser-side tools never transmit your file. Server-side tools (Protect, Unlock) send the file over HTTPS to a worker that processes it in memory and returns the result. Files are not written to disk and are not retained after the request completes. ## 4. Data retention - Server-side tool files: not retained — processed in memory and discarded. - Tool usage events: retained while we operate the service. - Account data: retained while your account is active; deleted on request. - Analytics: per Google Analytics defaults. - Newsletter subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe. ## 6. Sharing We do not sell your data. We share strictly necessary technical data with the processors listed above (Cloudflare, Google Analytics, our backend provider). We will disclose data if compelled by a valid legal order. ## 7. Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA) You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@pdfwix.com. We respond within 30 days. ## 8. Children PDFWix is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. ## 9. Changes We will update the date at the top of this page when we change the policy. ## 10.
