What's the file-size limit on the API?

10 MB on the free tier, scales up on paid plans. Hard cap is 500 MB per request — split larger files client-side and merge after processing.

Can I self-host the engine?

Not currently. Every tool is a hosted endpoint with predictable latency. Self-hosting is on the roadmap for enterprise customers — contact support@pdfwix.com to discuss.
