Which languages does PDFWix OCR support?

Over 100 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Japanese and Korean.

How accurate is the OCR?

On clean 300 DPI scans, accuracy exceeds 99% for Latin scripts and 95-98% for CJK and Arabic.

Does the original look stay the same?

Yes. We add an invisible text layer underneath the page image. The visible page is unchanged; Ctrl+F now finds words.

My OCR PDF job is stuck on "processing".

Refresh the page and try again. Browser-side processing depends on your device's CPU and RAM, so closing other tabs usually helps.

The downloaded file looks different from the preview.

Clear your browser cache and re-run the job. Outdated cached fonts can occasionally cause rendering glitches. If the issue persists, email us a sample to help@pdfwix.com.

Can I undo a OCR PDF operation?

Your original file is never modified — PDFWix always produces a new file. Just discard the new version and start again with the original.
