    Tips for converting PDFs

    Table borders help accuracy

Tables with visible borders extract more reliably than borderless ones. Whitespace-only column separation can confuse extraction.

    Verify totals

Always recalculate sum cells after extraction. Number/text confusion (a comma vs. a period as decimal) is the #1 issue.

    Scanned tables need [OCR](/ocr-pdf) first

Image-only tables can't be extracted as data. OCR first, then convert.

    Multiple tables per page

We split tables onto separate sheets in the workbook. Combine in Excel if you need them in one.

Lock numbers in PDF if shared

If the goal is to share read-only data, Protect PDF is better than letting recipients open in Excel where they can edit.
