    PDFWix for Legal Professionals

Tools and workflows hand-picked for lawyers and paralegals.

Legal teams handle hundreds of PDFs a week — bundles, exhibits, contracts. PDFWix gives you assembly, true redaction, AES-256 encryption and signing without sending privileged files to a third-party server you don't control.

Lawyers and paralegals live inside PDFs. A typical week means assembling exhibit bundles, redlining contracts, redacting privileged material before it goes to opposing counsel, sending encrypted attachments under a confidentiality undertaking, and chasing signatures on engagement letters. PDFWix is built so most of this work happens entirely in your browser — files never reach our servers, which matters when the document is privileged.

Bundle assembly. Drop the exhibits into Merge PDF, drag-reorder them to match your index, then run Add page numbers for clean cross-referencing. If a witness produced a 600-page PDF and you only need pages 12–47 and 200–230, Extract Pages gets you a clean exhibit in seconds. For bundles that need a coversheet on every section, Organize PDF lets you drop blank pages or coversheets between sections visually.

Redaction that actually redacts. Drawing a black box on top of text is not redaction — opposing counsel can copy-paste the underlying text right out of your 'redacted' filing. Redact PDF strips the text and image data from the PDF stream entirely, so the content is gone. Use it for SSNs, account numbers, and any privileged or work-product material before production.

Encryption and disclosure. Protect PDF applies AES-256 encryption (the same standard most law-firm IT policies require) with a user password to open and an owner password to control printing or copying. Send the password through a separate channel — text it, don't email it. Pair this with the firm's NDA template (signed via Sign PDF) for clean confidential transmission.

Redline and version control. When opposing counsel sends back v4 of a contract and claims they only changed the indemnification clause, Compare PDF shows you every actual change in seconds. Catch the silent change to the limitation-of-liability cap before signature, not after.

Signatures and notarization. Sign PDF produces a flattened signature that survives every reader and meets the requirements of the U.S. ESIGN Act and the EU eIDAS regulation (simple electronic signature level). For matters that require advanced or qualified signatures, you'll still need a dedicated notary or qualified trust service provider — that's outside PDFWix's scope.
